This filament holder was designed to allow easy access when changing materials for this large Filament Innovations printer. Although this printer has built in brackets to hold the spools, in order to access that we need to pull the machine away from the wall and carefully feed the material through several sensor which can be very time consuming.
Along with this large scale printer we also have several smaller artillery printers that needed a new design to hold the reels of filament. Due to limited overhead space on the shelves we are unable to use the factory filament stand that comes with the printers.
My solution for this problem was a "T" bracket to hold multiple filament roll at once. The bracket's positioning also place a vital part in this design because it allows for the filament to feed through smoothly avoiding possible jams in the sensors.
